The coffee and pastries are very good, but what really stands out is the great service. Genuinely nice staff who take an interest in their customers.
Great vibe and friendly staffs. What a perfect place to enjoy your weekend morning with coffee, classic Italian desserts, and sandwiches. Its my second time enjoying their Sandwiches and it still takes good. They lightly grilled the bread with butter for crispiness and the sauce and contents are well balanced. I tried their pistachio cake which was very light and soft. Lovely. This place is definitely distict from those chain coffee stores...
Their tiramisu is the best I've ever tried. If you only order one item, you better try the tiramisu. I also really enjoy their pizza, specifically the tomato basil and the truffle mushroom pizza. Service is great, and there's lots of outdoor seating in the back patio. This is the only coffee shop that's open late in Walnut Creek. Ambiance is very cozy and inviting.
Best ambiance, food is good, staff are superb The best thing is it's always open late and it's packed with a good vibe
I recently stumbled upon La Scala and was pleasantly surprised. It's a great spot for a quick coffee break / a leisurely lunch. I tried their coconut mocha, and it was delicious! The coffee was rich and flavorful, and the coconut flavor was subtle but noticeable. While I haven't had a chance to try their food yet, the lunch menu looks promising. I'm excited to return and sample some of their dishes. If you're in the area and need a caffeine fix or a bite to eat, I highly recommend this corner coffee spot.
Caffe La Scala is a great spot for coffee, pastries, and lunch items. I've been here a handful of times throughout the years, but not enough to be honest. The coffee is always amazing, service is always excellent, and the pastries are always crafted to high standard. I came here today with my girlfriend to work on some of my urgent work tasks, and we knew that the signature French ambiance, complemented by the music, would not disappoint. I ordered a medium roast, black. I tend to notice that many coffee shops serve brews that have a slight sweetness to them, which aren't really my preference. The coffee here is of a fantastic quality, very smooth and balanced throughout each sip. When I came to the counter and inquired about which pastry to order, the girl at the counter recommended the Lemon Poppy scone. In all honesty, I am and never have been, a lemon pastry fanatic. Most lemon pastries seem to have an overwhelming lemon flavor. Well I tell you what...this scone was fantastic. It struck the perfect balance of moisture, crumbling texture, and lemon flavor. The lemon poppy icing on top perfected the scone, which was also well balanced in of itself. Scones are naturally a dry type of baked good and can be made too dry at times, but this one was made delicately and deliciously melted in my mouth
Nice cafe! Beautiful decor from inside. Coffee is nice, good menu for a cafe. They have salads, panini sandwiches, Pizza. My favorite is a sweet pecan bar, so delicious!! Parking is hard in Walnut Creek anyways. Not sure this cafe but in general. There are plenty of public parking centers, a multiple level parking garage, it's where: I park if I don't get any street parking!! Service is good!
Stopped in on a Saturday evening after having dinner near by, and it was packed! Vibe is giving Italian cafe...as the name suggests, super cute! Ordered a sampler of desserts to share with my family, and a couple of drinks. Love that they had several gluten free options for my celiac daughter to enjoy with her chai. We ordered: - gluten free carrot cake (muffin) really moist and flavorful. - tiramisu was HUGE and well balanced between layers. Perfect ratio of lady fingers to espresso to cream. - coffee cake (not pictured) was moist yet crumbly, perfect pair with the hot cappuccino - carrot cake slice was delicious! Their dessert portions are very generous, and drinks were good. The staff was welcoming and friendly. Will come back to try their food but from seeing what was coming out of their kitchen it looked equally delicious.
My partner and I arrived around 7pm on a Tuesday in search of dessert and were not disappointed! We ordered the following: 1. Tiramisu ($7.50, 5/5) - huge 4" x 4" slice, super fresh, made in house. 2. Profiteroles ($6.95, 4/5) - Comes with 2 cream puffs per order, can have whipped cream on the side. Imported from Italy! Excellent dessert experience. Looks like a great place to have a coffee, light lunch, or night cap!
